From pink rosy cheeks to grown up grunge, here are three make-up trends to inspire you this autumn.
Yes, there was fabulous fashion on display in the autumn/winter 2024 collections, but also some seriously striking make-up moments too. We pick three trends straight from the runway that are set to define the new season.
Pretty In Pink
Thereās something oh-so-pretty about beautyās current obsession with blusher, seen at ChloĆ©Ā and Casablanca this season, where models had sweet pinks swept across their cheeks and even noses, proving a rosy glow can last long into autumn. And luckily, thereās a fresh crop of products on the market to get you excited. This summer, Hourglass launched the new Unreal Liquid Blush, whose serum-like and silky formula is ideal for those who prefer fuss-free application. Nars has also recently added matte and shimmer variations to its best-selling cheek powers, as well as boosting the colour pigment. Fortunately, beloved shades such as Orgasm, Deep Throat and Sex Appeal are still available ā and still making us blush. The secret to nailing this look is to keep make-up fresh-faced and minimal ā look to Tom Fordās new Shade & Illuminate Soft Radiance Primer SPF 25 for the perfect dewy base.

Grown up Grunge
Although grunge-style make-up has been ubiquitous on catwalks recently ā for which you can thank the current ā90s fashion revival ā this season, however, runway beauty felt different. At Versace, bold black eyeliner was too polished to be branded as simply punk, paired with lightly tousled hair and clean makeup, with brows kept minimal. Similarly chic cat eyes were also seen at Jason Wu, and Erdemās Maria Callas-inspired collection proves even leading ladies can get on board with the hooded eye. Get the look with Valentinoās latest ultra-pigmented Colour Graph gel eyeliner. For a more stand-out style, Byredoās multitasking creamy colour stick can be used on eyes, lips or cheeks.
Top of the Pops
A simple pop of colour is the new way to wear eyeshadow ā or at least if the autumn 2024 catwalks are anything to go by. A plethora of bright and bold lids were seen at Victoria Beckham and Carolina Herrera, while Dior make-up creative director and image maker Peter Philips used a spot of raspberry pink pigment to dress the inner corners of the eye. Itās best to go for highly pigmented and long-lasting formulas to make an impact, such as ClĆ© de Peauās moistursing Eye Color Solo quads or Make Up Foreverās Artist Colour Eyeshadows, which comes in 100 shades. Keep lips to a minimum to let the eyes do the talking; Pradaās moisturising Balme Universelle should do the trick.
